Visual Basic for Applications (VBA)
In Excel or Access
If you need to automate tasks in Excel or develop a database solution in Access you will need to learn to program in VBA. Our course will introduce the necessary programming concepts and show you how to tap into online resources to develop your skills. This course is useful for people who inherit macros developed by another user, or for those who can see a smarter way of working but don’t know how to implement it.
For those of you looking to create sophisticated spreadsheet solutions our VBA course will enable you to learn how to extract and manipulate data using Visual Basic. You will also learn how to manage your Visual Basic code and distribute your application to other users.
Learn live online
You can tackle individual topics in an on-line training session with an instructor. These are interactive sessions, offered on a one-to-one basis. Topics offered include:
Loop constructs in VBA
Learn how to make your macros handle repeated tasks.
Looping through a collection
Use looping to process an unknown number of operations, e.g. loop through every sheet in the workbook, or every populated row.
Make your macros respond to user-generated events, e.g. mouse-click, or spreadsheet open.
Running code, debugging and error handling
How to work out what is going on in VB code, and make it robust. Important methods for programmers.
It is highly recommended that you either have advanced Microsoft Excel skills or have completed our advanced Microsoft Excel course before participating in this course.
